Dried Orris Roots

Dried Orris Roots

Once important in western herbal medicine, Orris is now used mainly as a fixative and base note in perfumery; it is the most widely used fixative for potpourri.
The source of our Dried Orris Roots is from audited supplier from Zhejiang Province, one of the main growing areas of Orris Roots in China. We buy Dried Orris Roots from our audited suppliers who grow Orris plants in remote mountainous areas far away from industries with low heavy metals, managing the application of pesticides as per our supervision so that there is no pollution of pesticide residues in the products.
The harvest time is in late Aug. to Sept. It's better to collect the Orris roots after they have been more than 3 years old. If the roots are too young, the volatile oil content will be too low.
Workers wash the fresh Orris Roots in a washing and skinning machine for about 20 minutes. After that, the soils on the Orris Roots will be cleaned away; the skins completely removed. Then the roots will be cut into flakes in a slicer, which will be dried in a hot air drying machine with 40-55 degrees centigrade for about 12hours. Eventually, we have got beautiful well Dried Orris flakes with white color.
For individual families with small quantity of Orris Roots, they will wash and slice the roots manually, and dry the root flakes in the sunshine for about seven days.
Our Dried Orris Roots are used as raw materials for perfumery, as raw materials for foods, as raw materials for animal feeds, and also as raw materials for pharmaceuticals to treat pyogenic and other diseases.
Our annual output of Dried Orris Roots is about 50 tons.
